Most notably, Treasure Chests will now regularly offer improved cosmetic rewards, including new outfits and haircuts for Cal. Survivor has incorporated a new skill tree system with individual progression paths for Lightsaber stances and stat upgrades, and as such, players will be able to obtain an increased number of Skill Points as well as other rewards through regular exploration. Cal will need upgrades unlocked throughout the story to be able to fully explore the secrets and rewards of areas like Koboh, which includes puzzle rooms, boss battles, and active combat regions.
The gameplay experience of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is crafted out of a mix of open world and linear environments, with the linear sequences apparently driving story movements while the open world portions emphasize exploration with multiple paths and hidden passages.
